Ladysmith Black Mambazo & Friends
Fantastic collection of collaborations with Ladysmith! Josh Groban's "Weeping" is a standout -- a heartcry from the days prior to the end of apartheid in South Africa.
Hadestown
This folk opera is a retelling of the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. "Why we build the wall" alone is worth the price of the album! If there every was a perfect CD, this must be it.
Jars Of Clay Presents The Shelter [+Digital Booklet]
Jars of Clay's songs always make us think.
Organic Family Hymnal
Another great album recommended by Julie Allman. Thanks, Julie!
Ghosts Upon The Earth
It's hard to classify this music, but it touches the heart regardless of category.
I Dreamed A Dream
Susan's story is inspirational, and this album is the number one bestselling album of 2009. The song selection is quite varied. Perhaps her second album will be more thematic.
Bluetree: God Of This City
I had never heard of this Irish band until Amazon.com offered their debut U.S. album as a $5.00 download. WOW! Even the regular download price of $6.99 is a bargain! "God's Plan" and "God of this City" are standout tracks. I think we'll be hearing more of this group in the future.
