We were happy to serve as hosts for a joint Thanksgiving service with the OMS church. Péter and Sándor (the pastor of the OMS church) planned the service and selected the music. Péter, Sándor, and Kriszta made up the worship team. Larry served as the host. Since Sunday was also the first Sunday of Advent and Manna and Kriszta offered the Advent reading and lit the first Advent candle.
For this service three short messages were planned. First Larry spoke about how the American Thanksgiving holiday began and how it is observed in America today. Péter followed with a message that examined what the Bible says about being thankful. Finally Sándor spoke about how we can be thankful in our day to day lives.
Following the service we all enjoyed a fellowship time that featured wonderful baked goods brought in by people from both churches. Ildikó made a wonderful pumpkin pie that was a hit with everyone! Larry was given baby duty and was quickly able to help Sarolta go off to sleep!
